What is an Access Ready Environment?

An access Ready Environment is where access for people with disabilities at the physical and technological levels is a matter of forethought, design, inclusion and planning instead of a condition of afterthought, delay and discrimination resulting in risk to all concerned.

Access Ready Strategic Social Purpose Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Access Ready Inc. Sixty percent of its Board of Directors is made up of members of the Access Ready Inc (nonprofit) Board.

Its mission is to consult with the business, government and nonprofit sectors on various aspects of disability policy, needs and technology requirements.

It also promotes policy resolutions and positive outcomes across these sectors.

To support these efforts, it engages in the development of new accessible information and communication technologies.
Access Ready Strategic has a wide range of consulting experts on call to assist the business, government and nonprofit sectors.

The funding created is used to support the advocacy efforts of Access Ready, Inc., the nonprofit advocacy organization.

As a social Benefit corporation, it posts a report annually on its activities.

For people with disabilities, accessible information and communications technology is a necessity, not a luxury or a convenience, which fosters independence, economic self-sufficiency, and active, meaningful participation in civic life.

Inaccessible information and communications technology presents a clear, growing, and present danger to the civic, economic, and social welfare of people with disabilities.
